DRC only allows government organizations to use the registers .gov.np domain. Registrations for domains ending in .gov.np are free. First-come, first-served domain registration is available, but there are restrictions.

According to instructions from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), the DNS server will be the NITC, which are as follows:

• Primary DNS: mechi.nitc.gov.np - 202.45.144.2
• Secondary DNS: koshi.nitc.gov.np - 202.45.144.3
• Secondary DNS: 103.140.0.9 for bagmati.nitc.gov.np

NOTE: You can choose a domain name on your own, however, this is subject to the registrar's database for the.NP ccTLD being accessible.
